Bio

Dr. Anthony P. Scriffignano was born in Newark, NJ. He obtained his undergraduate degree from St. Peter’s college in Jersey City, NJ. Dr. Scriffignano then went on to receive his Doctorate of Veterinary medicine in 1976 from the University of Parma, Italy. “Dr. Scriff,” as he is known, began his own practice, converting what was once a real estate office to what is now the Verona Animal Hospital. In 1985, Dr. Scriff purchased the Montclair Animal Hospital, adding a second location to his practice.

In his veterinary practice, Dr. Scriff has a special love for surgery, endoscopic procedures, ultrasound and a strong interest in training and behavior. He has been on the Executive Board of the Zoological Society of New Jersey, and is currently an Honorary Trustee and is also the Vice President of Rescue Haven Foundation, a very active dog rescue organization. He has made our hospitals very supportive of many different animal rescue groups.

Dr. Scriff has three children, Marisa, Marla and Paul and 5 grandchildren. His four legged family includes his rescues, Bella, Bianca and Cassie. His other outside interests include Ju Jitsu (He has held a black belt since 1968), motorcycles, cars and high performance driving.
